The
CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.) reported data for April 2013 from
a survey of more than 90 associations of REALTORS® throughout the state,
representing statistics of existing single-family detached homes only.
· San Diego County was a leader in
both month-to-month and year-over-year sales increases, with a median sales
price increase of 4.0% from 1 month ago and a 22.8% from 1 year ago.
· The Unsold Inventory Index indicates
the number of months needed to sell the supply of homes on the market at the
current sales rate. A six- to seven-month supply is considered normal.
The April 2012 Unsold Inventory Index for existing, single-family detached
homes was 4.8 months, and for April 2013 it was 3.1 months.

Increased
market competition has significantly driven down the time on market compared
with a year ago. For April 2012 the median days on market was 47.8 and for
April 2013 it was 24.9 days.
