Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation presents

OCEANSIDE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Held every August, Oceanside International Film Festival officially kicks off a season of various film festivals, which are conducted annually in San Diego county and usually continue through the Fall. Established in 2009, OIFF is an opportunity for independent filmmakers to have their work screened and judged. It also gives the film buffs a jump-start chance for viewing local and international films at a place in Southern California known for its rich history, beautiful beaches, and artistic freedom. Film industry guests and audience members alike will appreciate the ocean-infused atmosphere surrounding the city, where the festival is held.

AUGUST 9, SUNDAY
Red Carpet Welcome & Opening Evening
2:00 pm to 3:30 pm - red carpet arrival of film industries stars and reception of filmmakers at Star Theatre, 402 North Coast Hwy, Oceanside, CA 92054. This is a perfect picture opportunity in front of the OIFF Official Backdrop with refreshments & generous appetizers to the live background music in the beautiful lobby (food and first drink included with passes, see complete schedule for list of craft beer)
3:30 pm - live performance onstage of Star Theatre
3:45 pm - opening speech and greetings from OIFF's organizational committee
3:50 pm - screening of Guest Feature Films "Into The Silent Sea" (from Arsta, Sweden, 25 min), winner of both OIFF-2014 Jury's Award for Best Student Film - College and OIFF-2014 Jury's Award for Best Picture (meet & Q&A with the cast after the screening); and then "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" (83 min), a 1978 classic with its creator present (meet & Q&A with John DeBello after the screening)
6:00 pm - conclusion

Closing Awards Gala
2:00 pm - reception with refreshments & appetizers in the lobby of Star Theatre, 402 North Coast Hwy, Oceanside, CA 92054. This is the last picture opportunity for red carpet photos and in front of the OIFF Official Backdrop. 3:00 pm - live performance onstage of Star Theatre
3:15 pm - closing speech and greetings from OIFF's organizational committee, presentation of about 15 awards (for winning films) to be given to filmmakers in each category from the OIFF Jury, and in each category for Audience Choice Awards, with screening of clips from winning films. The ceremony includes presentation of two special awards: 1) the OIFF Awareness Award for making awareness about an important topic in film and television industry to Stacy Goldberg, Make A Film Foundation Mito Ambassador in association with The Magic Bracelet film; 2) Lifetime Achievement Award for contribution in film and television industry to John DeBello, creator of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! Oceanside Chamber of Commerce presents

NORTH COUNTY HEALTH & WELLNESS FAIR

On August 13, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Chamber will hold its 9th Annual North County Health & Wellness Fair. This event provides an opportunity for local health & wellness related businesses to promote their products and services. The event also features a variety of health related free screenings for community members.

This popular event will feature dozens of health-related businesses who will promote their products and services. In addition, a variety of free health-related screenings and demonstrations for the public will be featured throughout the event.

The North County Health Fair is FREE to the public and a great way to receive information, meet a new health specialist, take advantage of free screenings and to learn more about healthy living. Located at the beautiful Oceanside Civic Center Plaza, the North County Health Fair will run concurrently with the popular Downtown Farmer Market.
